Artist - Rob Pitt

Rob Pitt

Rob Pitt was born 25+ years ago in Hartford, CT and spent most of his young years in Hebron, CT.

At the age of two his mother enticed him with crayons, paints, markers, and scissors. "No coloring books!" she would say, so as not to stifle his creativity. That was the beginning of his journey towards a career in illustration and graphic design.

He attended high school at Bacon Academy in Colchester, CT, where he continued to hone his artistic and creative skills. Upon graduation in 1998, he received an award for the most outstanding art portfolio.

In 2003 he graduated from Maine College of Art (MECA) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Media.

He has held a diverse range of jobs, including Order Entry at a major arts and crafts company, Supervisor at a retail pet supply store, Project Editor for Time Warner, and Creative Marketing Manager for a furniture company.

In addition to drawing cartoons for Academic Keys, he does website design for a company in the Old Port of Portland, Maine. He enjoys freelance design and illustration because it allows him greater creative freedom, and the opportunity to branch out into the many diverse areas of design.
