Founded in 1919, AUC moved to a new 270-acre state-of-the-art campus in New Cairo in 2008. Job Description:

The Department of English and Comparative Literature (ECLT) seeks a non-tenure track full time appointment in American literature (open rank) beginning Fall 2018. Possible fields of interest include, but are not limited to: African American literature, Arab American literature, Multiethnic American literature, American studies, Hemispheric studies, Translation Studies, and Transnationalism. The successful candidate is expected to teach humanities courses in the AUC core curriculum, introduction to American studies courses, and both halves of a two-semester survey of American literature; actively engage in research; supervise M.A. theses and serve on committees; and provide department and university service. The teaching load is normally nine credits per semester, including courses in the M.A. program.


Requirements:

Applicants must have a PhD in English, American Studies, Comparative Literature, or a related discipline by the time of appointment, preferably with a record of an active research agenda and teaching experience.
