  • My research interests are varied, but most of my publications are in Philosophy of Mind, Epistemology, and History of Philosophy. I have just published a book with Springer titled Consciousness and the Philosophy of Signs, as part of their “Studies in the History of Philosophy of Mind” series. My work (in that book and elsewhere) explores the role of similarity-based representations like icons and diagrams in both conscious experience and logical reasoning. I was tasked by Oxford University Press with gathering the best literature on Semiotics for their annotated bibliographies in Philosophy. My methods are mainly analytic, but I occasionally venture into pragmatism and phenomenology, especially when these connect with current cognitive science.
