My specific areas of interest include but are not limited to: Theories of Articulation and Technology; American Culture and History from the Civil War to the Present; Twentieth Century United States Popular Culture; Race, Ethnicity and Migration; American and African American Music, literature and Film; Media Studies; Radical Social Movements; the subtle and crass Politics of Domination and Resistance; “Post-Colonial” Theory and, last but not least, the History of United States Colonial-Imperialism from the Frontier Wars to Iraq. At the moment I am exploring the various relationships which have emerged between Afro-diasporic communities and the Nation-State. I am also a father, son, brother, boyfriend and pretty good neighbor.
