Expertise: I have three areas of research interest that I would love to share with students: United States constitutional history in general and free speech and the First Amendment in particular; movie history, particularly the control of movie content; and deportations from the U.S. for ideological reasons. I have recently also begun to delve deeply into urban American history, particularly of Albany, Detroit, and New York City.
