Expertise: Gift Kayira’s research interests are in economic history of Malawi with a bias towards that of development located within British Imperial History in the 20th Century. In particular, he seeks to understand the evolution of colonial and post-colonial development ideas and their corresponding projects, and the manner in which they affected progress in Malawi’s rural society.
